Our Staff

Our staff intellectually challenges the students through Christian and secular curriculum. We include art, music, PE/Athletics and technology integration.  We use national achievement tests to chart the progress of the students.  We hire Christian teachers who:

  • Emphasize the worth of each student as a unique creation of God.
  • Openly share the love of Christ with students.
  • Encourage students to respect, love and obey their parents.
  • Attempt to inspire loyalty and respect for the church.
  • Attempt to inspire love for the country and and respect for authority.
  • Equip students with solid academic skills.

After serving churches for 30 years in pastoral positions, God called me into education where I spent 9 years in various teaching roles. My wife Nancy and I have been residents of Waller County since 2010. We are excited that we now call WCA our home as well!

“As a prisoner for the Lord, then, I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love. Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace.”  Ephesians 4:1-3

I grew up an “Army Brat”, so I lived all over…in Georgia, Oklahoma, and Germany when I was young. When my dad got out of the Army we settled in Decatur, TX where my grandparents and extended family are. I attended Dallas Baptist University where I graduated with a degree in Elementary Education and Mathematics. I have been married to my best friend now for 20 years and we have 4 beautiful daughters. I am passionate about growing in children a love of learning, whether it be finding a favorite author, understanding fractions, or learning to study God’s Word. WCA has truly been a blessing to me and my family and I am grateful for the privilege to pour into the lives of these students.

And you must love the Lord your God with all your heart, all your soul, and and all your strength. And you must commit yourselves wholeheartedly to these commands I am giving you today. Repeat them again and again to your children. Talk about them when you are at home and when you are away on a journey, when you are lying down and when you are getting up again.
Deuteronomy 6:5-7

I live in the Tomball area with my two daughters. Tomball has been my home since the age of 15.  Prior to attending Tomball High School, I went to Lutheran High School North and Our Savior Lutheran School in Houston.  I graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2001 with a degree in education and taught in Magnolia ISD until the birth of my youngest daughter in 2006.  Once both of my daughters started school, I returned to work subbing and finally teaching Pre-K from 2012 – 2016 prior to enthusiastically accepting my current teaching position at WCA.

“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; He will never leave you nor forsake you.” Deuteronomy 31:6

Misty Smith

5th -9th Grade/Science

I worked in the medical field managing three doctor’s office in Houston, Texas for 7 years before becoming a stay at home mom.  During that time, God opened a door for me to complete my bachelor’s degree through Kaplan University with a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with an emphasis in Substance Abuse.  I am currently enrolled in a Master’s of Education Program in Instructional Design through Western Governor’s University.  This is my second year to teach in a school setting, but teaching has been my calling for as long as I can remember.  God continues to guide and lead me daily, and I feel it more every day while teaching our next generation of leaders.  We have no greater influence than these young minds.

“Such love has no fear, because perfect love expels all fear.  If we are afraid, it is for fear of punishment, and this shows that we have not fully experience his perfect love.  We love each other because he loved us first.” 1 John 4:18-19

I am from Paris, Tennessee. I have been in Texas for 20 years and lived in Waller for the last 10 years. My husband Mickey and I have been married for 23 years and we have 3 children. I went to Union University as an accounting major before I decided to be a homemaker for my family.  I have been an avid volunteer for my children’s classrooms and school PTO groups as well as serving on the worship team at my church. I love to sing praise and worship to the awesome God that has directed our path to Waller Christian Academy. It is a privilege to manage the business of this school so that our community can offer a Christian education to our children.

Whatever you do, do your work heartily, as for the Lord rather than for men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance. It is the Lord Christ whom you serve. (Colossians3:23-24 NASB)
